As you might know, on January 20th, Donald Trump will be the President of the United States of America. This also means, we are saying goodbye to Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States. January 19th will be his last day of presidency.

As he leaves the White House, many citizens of America are heartbroken that they are losing one of the greatest leaders the country has ever had. President Barack Obama has not only been a great president, but has shown to everyone that you can be the difference in the world. He showed this by running for President even though he is African American. With hard work and determination, he became the first African American president.

On January 10th, 2016, President Barack Obama made a goodbye speech, not only to America, but also to the rest of the world. It was said to be one of the greatest speeches that he ever wrote. (Are you sure he wrote it? Many politicians have speech writers. If you aren’t certain, maybe end the sentence at “speeches.”) It lasted about 50 minutes; even though it was long, it was inspiring.

It was very surprising that Obama’s youngest daughter, Sasha, was not there. The First Lady, Michelle Obama was there, and daughter Malia also attended. People are wondering where Sasha was. When Obama thanked Sasha and Malia, only Malia was there to take in the applause. Malia and Michelle got a standing ovation but, when the people didn’t see Sasha, #WhereIsSasha started trending on Twitter. Some people said, as a high school student, she was preparing for class. It was still very odd given that Sasha rarely missed her fathers important speeches, but on his most important occasion, she wasn’t there. Hopefully, she had a strong reason.
